Nelson Khumbeni and Max Conway have joined National League club Fylde on loan on an initial one-month loan.
Khumbeni came off the bench in the 8-1 victory against Manchester United Under-21s in the EFL Trophy and managed to get on the scoresheet 16 minutes from time.
Meanwhile, Max Conway was recently recalled from his loan at Rochdale after playing seven times at Spotland.
Both players have impressed for the B Team and were around the first-team squad during pre-season.
The pair will now be looking to help Fylde bounce back from a tough start to life in the top tier of the non-league pyramid.
The Coasters secured promotion from National League North last season but currently sit at the foot of the table, having won just two of their opening 14 league fixtures.
Khumbeni joined the Whites’ ranks in the summer of 2022 following his release by Norwich and signed a new two-year deal several months ago.
Speaking about his first senior goal against United’s youngsters, the 20-year-old explained: “It was massive.
“From leaving Norwich a couple of years ago and how I felt after leaving there, to score my first professional goal was just huge.
“You have to be ready. I’ve had to be patient and once that opportunity comes, you try and make a mark - whether it be scoring, assisting or having a good game and a positive impact. I thought I did that and was delighted about that.”
When asked about getting opportunities around the first-team squad, he added: “It’s always good to be around the first team, playing with the best players who have played hundreds of games in the league at various levels and even with international players.
“It’s good learning from them, playing with them and understanding the game better, soaking up everything there is to know.
“I’ve still got a lot to learn and whenever I get to spend time with them and be around them – in meetings, travelling – all the experience is just going to help me to try and improve every day.”
