Carlisle will be backed in numbers at Wanderers this weekend and boss Paul Simpson hopes his side can thrive off the support.
The Cumbrian club have sold around 4,500 tickets for the fixture at the Toughsheet Community Stadium – a venue they have only previously played at behind closed doors during the pandemic.
Simpson is relishing the occasion and hopes his side can produce a worthy performance as they search for a first away win of the campaign in the league.
“It is absolutely fantastic,” he told News & Star. “We didn’t have stadiums like the Bolton ground in League Two, and we have earned the right to do it.
“We have got to go and play, to earn the right like we did against Peterborough, go and compete like we did, and hopefully we will get a little bit more luck.
“We have got so much going on at the minute, so many good things. I totally accept my team are not getting the results everybody wants, I understand all of that.
“We are trying everything we possibly can to get results. On Tuesday (against Peterborough), they have seen we had sleeves rolled up and we’re having a right good go at it.
“This weekend, we have to make sure that the pleasure we take out of a 95th minute equaliser - in terms of the momentum and belief we can take from that – (leads to us) doing it against another good team.
“We have to take it into Bolton and give that 4,000-plus support something to be proud of again.”
Jordan Gibson scored a 96th-minute equaliser against Peterborough on Tuesday night after Ronnie Edwards broke the deadlock.
Carlisle have taken eight points from their opening 11 matches back in the third tier, with their only victory so far coming against Shrewsbury.
Simpson is keen to build on the momentum gained in midweek and hopes to “do ourselves justice” against the Whites.
“We have to use it,” he continued. “It would have been horrible if it had been another defeat going into another tough game at Bolton.
“We earned another good point - and we did earn it, it is not luck.
“We need to keep going and go into what will be a tough game at Bolton on Saturday - a game we’ve earned the right to be involved in - and make sure we do ourselves justice.”
Wanderers came out on top when the sides last met in a competitive fixture in April 2021. Eoin Doyle got the decisive goal that day.
The Whites are unbeaten in their last six matches against the Cumbrian outfit – a run stretching back to 1987.
