FORMER Wanderers defender Derik Osede has signed for Waterford United.
The former Spain Under-21 international, who started his career with Real Madrid, has signed a short-term deal with the League of Ireland club.
Osede spent three years with Bolton, playing 71 games and scoring twice, and was part of the squad which won promotion from League One under Phil Parkinson in 2016/17.
Since leaving Wanderers he featured for Spanish sides like Numancia, Deportivo la Coruna, Alcoyano and Pontevedra. The 30-year-old will now sign for Waterford, pending international clearance, for the remainder of the season.
“I’m very happy to sign for Waterford FC. I’m looking forward to helping the team achieve the goals this season,” he told the club.
“I’m a technical, pacey defender when I’m on the pitch and I’m looking forward to getting started.
“It’s been good since I arrived, and I can’t wait to get on the pitch now and make my debut for the club.”
Waterford face Finn Harps in their next game tomorrow night (Friday), 8pm.
