Wanderers had to settle for a point against the Brewers, but which players caught the eye?
NATHAN BAXTER…6.5
Had a let off when Rekeem Harper failed to hit the target during the first half following a lapse in concentration. Made a brave stop from close range in the second half after a spot of pinball in the box.
GETHIN JONES…6
Linked up well with Dacres-Cogley on the right flank at times but probably should have done better with the Burton goal. Was the main leader in the Bolton squad after Santos was forced off at the break.
RICARDO SANTOS…6
Hurt his ankle in the opening minute after a late challenge but powered through for the rest of the half. Made an important interception as Kamwa was about to be sent through on goal.
JACK IREDALE…6
Allowed Kamwa to go through on goal early on but the woodwork came to Wanderers’ rescue. Still building up his sharpness after a lengthy injury lay-off but has the potential to be effective in the wide centre-back role.
JOSH DACRES-COGLEY…7.5
Had a big impact in the final third, particularly during the second half. Delivered a number of inviting crosses into the box and could easily have had a couple of assists on another day.
GEORGE THOMASON…6.5
Produced a sublime long pass to pick out Williams on the break during the first half. Helped combat the hosts’ energy in the middle of the pitch but perhaps needs to be more patient at times instead of diving into challenges.
PARIS MAGHOMA…7
Combined effectively with those around him at times and got himself into some dangerous positions. Had a chance to put his side in front after the break but couldn’t keep his strike down.
RANDELL WILLIAMS…6.5
Caused the Burton backline problems with his speed and dribbling ability. Was denied by a smart stop during the first half and had another decent opening after the break but could only fire into the side netting.
KYLE DEMPSEY…6.5
Drove Wanderers up the pitch with a few dribbles during the first half and played a role in Charles’ equaliser. Battled for every second ball, which can have a big impact on the game against sides like Burton.
DION CHARLES…7
Took his goal well and ran his socks off as usual, even tracking back to support the backline at times before making way in the final stages. If it wasn’t already clear, the Wigan defeat highlighted his importance to the side.
VICTOR ADEBOYEJO…6
Held the ball up well on his former stomping ground but should have been more ruthless in front of goal. Was denied by a fine stop by Crocombe in the second half but the goalkeeper shouldn’t have had a prayer.
Subs: Forrester 6.5 (46, for Santos) – Was thrown in at the deep end after Santos’ injury but can be pleased with his efforts at the heart of defence.
Sheehan (73, for Maghoma)
Mendes Gomes (73, for Dempsey)
Jerome (73, for Adeboyejo)
Nlundulu (81, for Charles)
Unused: Morley, Bodvarsson
Referee: Carl Brook
Attendance: 3,711
