Lostock AC's Mark Shuttleworth won the club’s annual Chair’s Fell Race.

The race is for club members only and is a friendly, but competitive, event that covers five miles with an elevation gain of 950 feet.

The race started at Rivington Barn and competitors immediately start to climb as it travels to Belmont Road and up towards the mast.

At the trig point, competitors have a steep and muddy descent towards Rivington Pike.

In the final mile of the race, runners go up to the top of the pike, down the steps and head towards the Pigeon Tower. It is then a fast but tricky descent back to the Barn.

The first member to cross the finish line was Shuttleworth in an impressive 51mins 13secs, shortly followed by the first female, Nikki Morrison, in 51:29.

The second male to complete the race was Gareth Pratt, in 53:29, and third male was James Jackson, in 56:24. The second female was Heather Soden, in 56:20, and third female was Janet Rhodes, in 61:10.

Saturday saw Lostock members travel to local parkrun events.

Rachel Hancock completed Bolton Parkrun in 33:09, Ian Burns (28:52) headed to Haigh Woodland Parkrun, Mark Checkley (29:34) travelled to Pennington Flash and Shuttleworth completed Peel Parkrun, obtaining a parkrun PB of 22:49.
