JON Dadi Bodvarsson and Eoin Toal will make a competitive comeback for the B Team against Huddersfield Town on Tuesday afternoon.
Plans for Bodvarsson to start on the bench against Fleetwood were shelved after Wanderers decided it would be more advantageous for him to start the friendly at Lostock (kick-off 1pm).
The Icelander has been out of action for a few weeks with a hamstring problem and had been assigned extra training to make him “more robust” on his return.
Toal has been struggling to overcome an ankle injury he sustained in April’s Papa Johns Trophy Final but is now ready to step up to regular football again.
“We had a good chat with Jon and he is carrying some frustration because he is desperate to be involved and loves being here at Bolton.
“We know what he is capable of doing but he has to be ready to do business and we decided that rather than him be involved at Fleetwood and maybe play 15-20 minutes, it would be more beneficial for him to get 60, 70, 80 minutes for the B Team.
“Eoin Toal is the same, they will get plenty of minutes. Part of their rehabilitation is to make sure they are robust enough to come back and play for us for a significant time on the pitch.”
Wanderers have no other injury concerns following on from Saturday’s 3-0 win at Cheltenham Town and are looking to keep a fourth straight clean sheet for the first time since January.
“We want to be good at all the phases of the game.” Evatt said. “Whether that is attacking and scoring goals, keeping clean sheets, being good in transition. We are working really hard to improve all the aspects of our game.
“It has been a solid start but as I keep saying there is a lot more to come.
“It is just about driving standards and I don’t sense any form of complacency from the players.
“The line between complacency, over-confidence and the confidence we want is quite small and we have to make sure we are the right side of that line. The way we play needs belief.
“I don’t sense anything bad from the players, just a sense that they want to keep going and putting in good performances to get good results.”
