Bolton School’s Under-18 water polo team are national champions, following an 8-5 win against Notting Hill and Ealing High School.
The team, cheered on by head of division, Mrs Kyle, made an excellent start to the Northampton finals, beating last year’s winner Alleyn’s School 9-2.
This was followed by another strong performance and emphatic win as they overcame Highgate School 11-4.
Displaying excellent team spirit and determination, they then secured their place in the final with an 8-2 win against Trinity.
Earlier in the year the Girls’ Division U15 team also won the national title. The U13 team were silver medallists, losing by a single goal in their final at Northampton.
In May, two of the victorious U18 team, Harriet Dickens and Lucy Blenkinship, along with Junior Boys’ teacher Mr Winstanley, also played senior international water polo for their country.
