Hosts Bury Cycle Speedway Club won Round 5 of the Northern Fours & Junior League series on Sunday.

They took their fifth win of the the Fours League series, to clinch the title, with one round remaining. Hull finished runners-up, with Astley & Tyldesley and Sheffield finishing level in joint third.

Fours League result: Bury 54, Hull 43, Sheffield 37, Astley & Tyldesley 37, Heckmondwike 32, Stockport 26.

A&T scorers: Steve Harris 14, Lee Phillips 8, Owen Simcock 6, Duncan Whalley 6, Mason Gallagher 3.

Hull finished ahead of Sheffield, to take the team win, from the six categories which make up the Northern Junior League match.

A&T again finished third as Duncan Whalley raced unbeaten in the under-16 match.

Northern Junior League result: Hull 154, Sheffield 136, Astley & Tyldesley 100, Heckmondwike 62, Bury 49, Stockport 0.

A&T staged Round Five of the Go-Ride League, last week at Gin Pit.

Tyldesley Typhoons took their second team win of the series, to move ahead in the series table, two points clear of Astley Hurricanes, who took third place on the night.

Gin Pit Storm are now half a point behind the Hurricanes in the overall standings.

Owen Simcock took the individual GP win on the night, but Oscar Belt remains in the lead in the overall standings.
