Wanderers have completed the signing of Paris Maghoma on a season-long loan from Premier League Brentford.
The midfielder becomes the Whites’ eighth signing of the summer as Ian Evatt’s men prepare for the new campaign.
Maghoma came through the ranks at Tottenham Hotspur but failed to make a senior appearance for the London club. He has also represented England at Under-20 level.
The 22-year-old made the move to Brentford in January 2022 but his initial months with the Bees were impacted by injury. He has since featured for their B Team and trained with the first team squad.
He spent the first half of last season on loan at Wimbledon, making 24 appearances for the League Two side.
Maghoma’s impressive performances earned a step up to League One in January, spending the remainder of the campaign at MK Dons.
The youngster became a regular starter at Stadium MK as the Dons battled against relegation to the fourth tier, ultimately coming up just short.
He was on target in a 1-1 draw against Lincoln in February and also featured in the 5-0 defeat against Wanderers at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.
Ian Evatt says Wanderers kept a keen eye on Maghoma’s progress last season and is confident he can make a positive impact over the coming season.
“He’s someone we’ve monitored closely throughout his loans and we’re delighted to have him with us,” said the Bolton boss.
“He’s got an excellent background in terms of where he has started his career and then gained really good experience last season, including a significant number of games in League One.
"He has got a bit of everything and will strengthen our midfield options and add to the competition for places going into the season.”
Maghoma trained with his new team-mates on Monday and will wear the number 19 shirt over the coming season.
