Wanderers youngster Conor Carty has been awarded the Player of the Month award at St Patrick’s Athletic.
Carty joined the League of Ireland side on loan for the 2023 campaign and has impressed in recent weeks.
The 21-year-old forward initially had to be patient for opportunities in the first team but has now scored four goals in his last 12 appearances for Jon Daly’s side.
He began the month by scoring the opener in a 3-1 victory against University College Dublin and was also on target in a 1-1 draw against Dundalk a couple of weeks ago.
Carty is currently playing alongside former Bolton duo Eoin Doyle and Harry Brockbank at Richmond Park.
The former Wolves youngster received the monthly prize prior to the 1-1 draw against Cork on Friday, in which he played 75 minutes.
Jon Daly’s side currently find themselves second in the League of Ireland table – four points behind leaders Shamrock Rovers at this stage.
They also have a Europa Conference League tie against F91 Dudelange in Luxembourg coming up on Wednesday night.
Carty made his debut for the Republic of Ireland Under-21 side at the recent international break, starting both games against Ukraine and Kuwait.
The youngster was on target against the latter but the game was later abandoned following allegations of a racist remark towards an Irish substitute.
He has continued to progress since joining Wanderers’ B Team ranks 12 months ago following his exit from Wolves.
Carty has featured once for the Whites’ first team so far, scoring a late equaliser in the 2-2 draw at Tranmere in the EFL Trophy group stage last September.
