Former Bolton striker Adam Le Fondre has completed a move to Scottish Premiership side Hibernian.
Le Fondre has put pen to paper over a one-year deal at Easter Road, with the club retaining the option for a further 12 months.
The 36-year-old recently left Sydney following a five-year spell in Australia, becoming the second-highest scorer in the club’s history behind only Alex Brosquey.
He joined the Whites on loan from Cardiff in 2015, scoring nine goals in 17 games under Neil Lennon.
The club were unable to re-sign the forward the following summer but he returned to the North West two years later, helping Phil Parkinson’s side secure promotion to the Championship.
Le Fondre then signed a two-year deal at Bolton and was on target in the memorable victory against Nottingham Forest to beat the drop. He made the move to Sydney early in the 2018/19 campaign.
Hibs manager Lee Johnson hopes the former Bolton man’s experience will benefit the squad over the coming season.
He told the club website: “Adam brings craft to our new front-line and his experience and nous in the game will help develop our younger strikers.
“Throughout his career he has a proven goal scoring record and physically he’s in good shape. We look forward to working with him.”
Le Fondre made his professional debut in 2004 and has racked up nearly 700 appearances, scoring 273 goals in the process.
Prior to his arrival at Wanderers, the striker had spells with Rotherham, Reading and Cardiff among others.
Hibs finished fifth in the Scottish top flight last season and will learn their fixture list for the upcoming campaign on Friday, June 30.
