Adam Senior has agreed a two-year deal at National League side Halifax following his Wanderers exit.
The versatile defender was one of several B Team players released at the end of his contract along with Connor Stanley, Lynford Sackey, Matty Grivosti and Mackenzie Chapman.
Senior came through Wanderers’ youth ranks and made seven first-team appearances, most recently in the 2-1 defeat at Rotherham in January 2022.
The 21-year-old was a substitute when the ‘Junior Whites’ held Coventry to a goalless draw at the UniBol in August 2019.
He impressed during a loan spell at Halifax in the second half of last season as the Shaymen finished 11th in the top tier of the non-league pyramid, playing 20 games in total. The club also won the FA Trophy following a 1-0 victory against Gateshead at Wembley.
A club statement read: “FC Halifax Town have announced that defender Adam Senior has joined the Shaymen on a two-year deal.
“Senior was on loan with Town last season from Bolton Wanderers, making 20 appearances during his time with the club. Welcome back Adam!”
Earlier this week, Wanderers added striker Ben Andreucci to their B Team ranks following his exit from Leeds. He scored nine goals last season and has represented Scotland at Under-19 level.
“A number of Championship clubs” were said to be interested in securing Andreucci's services ahead of the new season.
Meanwhile, eight players remain under contract from last season including Conor Carty, who is currently on loan at St Patrick’s Athletic in the League of Ireland.
The forward is playing alongside former Bolton pair Eoin Doyle and Harry Brockbank. He has scored three goals in his last six games and was recently called up to the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad for the first time.
