Wanderers youngster Conor Carty has been called up to the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad for the first time.
Carty, who joined the Whites last summer after leaving Wolves, is currently on loan at League of Ireland side St Patrick’s Atheltic.
The 21-year-old has scored three goals in his last six matches, including a close-range header in the win against University College Dublin last week.
He has previously represented his country at the Euro Under-17 Championship and also had loan spells at Gateshead and Oldham last season.
Jim Crawford’s Under-21 side host Gabon Under-23s on Tuesday, June 13 before taking on Ukraine Under-21s on Friday, June 16.
They also face Kuwait Under-21s on Monday, June 19 and the fixtures are in preparation for their European Championship qualifiers in September.
“These three games will be important for the development of our squad,” said Crawford.
“We’re playing three teams from three different continents and that brings an exciting challenge that not all Irish teams get exposure to.
“Two of the teams are about to compete in continental competitions with Kuwait playing at the Under-23s Asia Cup only last year - there’s a lot of quality in our opponents.
“I’m looking forward to it, it’s a chance for players to establish their place in the squad for the qualifiers in September and beyond.
“We won our first game as a group against Iceland and we want to use that as a platform for these upcoming games.”
