The League One play-off battle looks like it could go down to the wire, with several sides still in the mix.
Wanderers currently sit in sixth place following their frustrating 1-1 draw against Cambridge, although Ian Evatt’s men have a game in hand on some of the teams around them.
The Whites seemed to be on course for another three points after Declan John’s goal, but the visitors hit back through Sam Smith’s header at the death.
Ricardo Santos and Eoin Toal were both absent through injury, with George Johnston again playing in the middle of the back three.
Speaking as a pundit on the EFL highlights show, former West Ham striker Dean Ashton said: “You have got to keep yourself in the conversation if you’re Cambridge by trying to pick up these points.
“(Jack) Lankester with another tasty left-foot effort that has taken a flick in. Bolton obviously disappointed with their two centre-backs missing.”
Wycombe find themselves three points off the top six despite recording a 2-0 win against struggling Forest Green, and ex-Ipswich forward Sam Parkin reckons they could be ones to watch in the coming weeks.
He added: “Wycombe made quite hard work of that, it wasn’t a great spectacle. But games against Morecambe and Cambridge now for them and very much still in the play-off mix.”
Derby’s poor form continued with a 1-1 draw against MK Dons at Pride Park despite going ahead through David McGoldrick’s 21st goal of the campaign.
Paul Warne’s side have now won just one of their last five matches in the league and currently sit in seventh place heading into the business end of the season.
“They didn’t take their chances,” Ashton explained. “28 shots to three of MK Dons, you have got to take your chances.
“Four wins in 13, they are quite lucky to still be in the mix. But they have got to remember they are and still can get themselves in the play-offs.”
Meanwhile, in-form Peterborough are up to fifth following a 3-1 victory against Exeter at London Road.
Posh have won five of their last six matches and have gone from strength to strength since Darren Ferguson returned to the hot seat.
“I have been really impressed with him since he has gone back,” stated Parkin. “Really good tactical decisions, he can switch between a couple of systems.
“And Ephron Mason-Clark has been another great discovery for Peterborough, he has been electric this season.”
