Wanderers’ focus returns to the league following the highs of last weekend’s Papa Johns Trophy triumph at Wembley.
Kyle Dempsey, Dion Charles, Elias Kachunga and Gethin Jones were all on target in an emphatic 4-0 victory against Plymouth in front of nearly 80,000 people in the Papa Johns Trophy final.
Ian Evatt’s men currently sit fifth in the League One table as they aim to push for promotion to the Championship.
Meanwhile, Exeter drew 2-2 at Fleetwood in their last outing after Pierce Sweeney scored a dramatic equaliser in stoppage time.
Gary Caldwell’s side have now lost just one of their last seven matches and have a strong record at home this season.
When and where is the game being played?
The fixture takes place at St James Park on Friday, April 7 (3pm). Wanderers ran out 2-0 winners when the sides met at the UniBol back in December thanks to first-half goals from Conor Bradley and Dion Charles.
The Whites drew 1-1 on their last trip to St James Park in January 2021, with Arthur Gnahoua cancelling out a Ricardo Santos own goal.
