Wanderers are nearing the 34,000 mark for ticket sales ahead of Sunday’s Wembley final against Plymouth – and the deadline has now been extended.
An official statement read: We can official confirm at the time of writing that the club has now sold 33,940 tickets for the Papa Johns Trophy final this weekend. Thank you for your outstanding support!”
The club confirmed that supporters can now purchase tickets beyond the initial deadline of 9am on Friday following discussions with the EFL, Plymouth and Wembley Stadium. They will remain on sale until kick-off (3pm) on Sunday.
All tickets must be purchased online HERE and not in person at the UniBol. Supporters who do not have access to the internet can call 0844 453 9940 up until 5pm today. The only ticket options available are digital and ‘print at home’.
After the deadline, purchases will still be subject to club membership accounts being valid prior to midnight on Wednesday, March 15. There will also remain a maximum of nine tickets per transaction.
Any reprint requests after 3pm on Friday will be made available for collection at the Bolton-signed windows at the East Ticket Office at Wembley from 11am on matchday. Supporters will require a valid photo ID to receive the tickets.
Ian Evatt’s men reached the final following a memorable 2-0 win against Accrington thanks to goals from Elias Kachunga and Aaron Morley.
Wanderers also overcame Barrow, Manchester United Under-21s and Portsmouth in the knockout rounds after finishing top of Group B.
Meanwhile, Plymouth beat Cheltenham on penalties in the semi-final following a 1-1 draw at Home Park.
The points were shared when Bolton faced the Pilgrims at the UniBol earlier this year following a goalless draw. Evatt’s men were beaten 2-0 at Home Park back in August after goals from Niall Ennis and Ryan Hardie.
Wanderers won the competition in 1989 following a 4-1 victory against Torquay at Wembley. Under-18s manager Julian Darby was on target against the Gulls that day.
