Dion Charles had a goal disallowed as Northern Ireland suffered a 1-0 defeat against Finland at Windsor Park in their latest European Championship qualifier.
Charles had the ball in the net early in the second half but was judged to have used his arm after a VAR check.
The forward also had a couple of chances during the opening 45 minutes - the first created by team-mate Conor Bradley with a clever cut-back - but was unable to get on the scoresheet.
Charles was hoping to build on his brace against San Marino on Thursday night – his first goals on the international stage. He has been prolific for the Whites this season, scoring 18 goals in all competitions.
Finland went in front on 28 minutes through Benjamin Kallman, who slotted home at the back post after an attack down the right wing.
Josh Magennis sent an effort over the bar after getting on the end of Paddy McNair’s flick-on early in the second half.
Jamal Lewis and McNair also missed late opportunities as Michael O’Neill’s first home game back in the hot seat ended in defeat.
Charles and Bradley played the full 90 minutes in both qualifiers ahead of Wanderers’ Papa Johns Trophy final against Plymouth at Wembley.
Eoin Toal was an unused substitute, which means he will have to be patient for his debut in the senior team. The defender has become an important member of Ian Evatt’s squad since his first League One appearance in December.
O’Neill’s side are back in action in June when they continue their qualifying campaign with fixtures against Denmark and Kazakhstan.
Slovenia are currently top of Group H, having racked up wins against San Marino and Kazakhstan over the past few days.
