Ian Evatt is pleased to see members of the Wanderers squad called up for international duty – and hopes the trend will continue.
Conor Bradley, Dion Charles and Eoin Toal have all been named in the Northern Ireland squad for their upcoming European Championship qualifiers.
It will be Toal’s first time in the senior squad, having previously represented his country at youth level.
Evatt said: “I am delighted for him, he deserves it. He has been absolutely outstanding since he came here.
“He has shown some signs of fatigue of late, that is fair to say, but we also have to bear in mind that he played throughout the whole summer. For him, this is really late on in the season.”
He added: “They all deserve it because they have been consistent over a large period of time now.
“Eoin has blossomed since he came in, Conor has had a fantastic first season in men’s football and Dion’s goal record speaks for itself. I am delighted they are involved.
“It is just a sign of where we are at and the progress that we have made as a club, a good marker to use.”
The likes of Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Josh Sheehan have also represented their countries during Evatt’s time at Bolton, while James Trafford has featured for the England Under-21 side.
“It is every player’s dream to play for their national team, and I am happy we have international players here because it means we are doing the right things,” he added.
“It is great credit to everyone involved that we have got ourselves into the position to have that standard of player again, and as we develop and get better there will be more. It is par for the course, really.”
