Wanderers defender Eoin Toal has earned his first call-up to the Northern Ireland senior squad for their upcoming European Championship qualifiers.
Toal has impressed since breaking into the side at Bolton following his move from Derry City over the summer, making 24 appearances in total.
In addition to his defensive duties, the 24-year-old old has popped up with several goals including a pinpoint strike in the 3-0 win against Portsmouth.
Toal previously represented his country at youth level and could now make his full international debut later this month.
Team-mates Conor Bradley and Dion Charles are also included in Michael O’Neill’s 26-man squad.
The 53-year-old returned to the hot seat in December following Ian Baraclough’s sacking despite narrowly avoiding relegation to the bottom tier of the Nations League.
O’Neill’s side head to San Marino on Thursday, March 23 (7.45pm) before hosting Finland on Sunday, March 26 (7.45pm).
They will also take on Denmark, Kazakhstan and Slovenia in Group H for a chance to compete in next year's finals in Germany.
The manager said: "(Toal) is playing for a good Bolton team at the minute and he has made that transition into English football look very straightforward."
