Wanderers climbed to third in the League One table following an emphatic 5-0 victory against MK Dons.
Ricardo Santos, Luke Mbete and Gethin Jones were all on target for the Whites during a dominant first-half showing.
Eoin Toal and substitute Randell Williams also managed to get on the scoresheet after the break, and Ian Evatt's men have now won their last five matches.
Set-piece threat
Set-pieces have been a long-term issue for Wanderers, but they now seem to have found effective solutions.
Three of their goals against MK Dons came from corners, and a couple more were created in similar fashion against Peterborough at the weekend.
Santos has now scored three goals in his last two matches after previously going more than 100 games without a goal for the club.
Toal also continues to impress and has scored three times this season, while Mbete opened his Bolton account.
John’s resurgence
It seemed like Declan John was heading for the exit door at one stage, but his return to the side could prove to be vital for Wanderers come the end of the season.
The Welshman relishes his opportunities to get forward and join the attack, providing a couple of assists against the Dons.
He was also unlucky not to get on the scoresheet, missing the top corner by a matter of inches with a clever free kick during the first half.
Wanderers fans will be hoping John can continue to show his quality in the final third in the coming weeks and months.
Defensive streak continues
Evatt’s men have now gone more than 16 hours without conceding at the University of Bolton Stadium.
Remarkably, George Thomason has suffered a knee injury, completed his rehabilitation and returned to the bench since they last conceded at home.
MK Dons looked bright in the final third at times, with James Trafford making a fine stop to deny Jonathan Leko after the break.
The Manchester City loanee is now on 16 clean sheets for the campaign – a total no other goalkeeper in the division can match at this stage.
Isgrove’s promising cameo
Lloyd Isgrove came off the bench for the final 10 minutes or so – only his third league appearance of the season.
The Welshman has had to be patient for opportunities this season since his return from injury but had some bright moments against the Dons.
He is comfortable playing in the right wing-back role and can cause defenders serious problems with his crossing.
But there is lots of competition for places on the right of defence, with Conor Bradley now back from suspension and Gethin Jones also impressing in the role lately.
