Former Wanderers defender Nicky Hunt has taken up a coaching role at non-league side Warrington Rylands.
Hunt made his professional debut for the Whites under Sam Allardyce on the final day of the 2000/01 campaign, which ended in promotion via the play-offs.
The defender went on to make 161 appearances for the club during a memorable 10-year-spell in the North West.
His only goal came in a 2-2 draw against Liverpool back in February 2004, beating Jerzy Dudek with a composed strike.
Hunt also played for Derby County, Preston North End and Accrington Stanley among others and most recently had a stint at Ashton United. He has served as a commentator on several Bolton games this season.
The 39-year-old also turned out for a Wanderers side at the Generations Cup, a tournament created to pay homage to the history of the FA Cup, at Darwen earlier this month.
He will now assist new boss Michael Clegg, who succeeds Jody Banim in the hot seat after the 44-year-old resigned due to “business commitments outside of football”.
Clegg worked with Hunt at Ashton, spending around three years in charge at Hurst Cross before leaving the club last month.
An official statement read: “The club would like to give a warm welcome new first team manager Michael Clegg and coach Nicky Hunt.”
Warrington are back in action on Saturday afternoon when they make the trip to the Turnbull Ground to face Whitby Town (3pm).
The Blues currently find themselves 11th in the Northern Premier League top flight – seven points off the play-off places at this stage.
They suffered a 1-0 defeat against South Shields in their last outing, with Robert Briggs getting the decisive goal from the penalty spot during the first half.
