Burnden’s very own race, the Trotters Trail, is looming on the horizon and it is shaping up to be a crackling event with post-race prizes and refreshments, as well as a cake sale in aid of Bolton Mountain Rescue who will be supporting the event.
The race will take place at 10am on Sunday, March 5, with registration at Smithills Sports Centre and the start line just near the entrance to Smithills Hall.
It is a brand new, all-trail fascinating venture around Smithills – crossing through through woodland, grassland and a bit of mud.
Special prizes are on offer and the course is well-marshalled and it is definitely one for the race calendar.
