Peterborough have been handed a boost on the injury front ahead of their clash with Wanderers this weekend.

Midfielder Jack Taylor has had a scan after picking up an ankle injury during the 2-0 win against Forest Green at the weekend.

However, the results showed there is “little damage” and he should be back in training on Thursday with a view to featuring against the Whites.

Manager Darren Ferguson told The Peterborough Telegraph: "We thought Jack would be fine, but we sent him for the scan as a precaution.

"And the results were as we expected. There is very little damage. Jack felt much better this morning and he will be training on Thursday and then involved on Saturday.

"He’s playing very well just now so we don’t want to lose him for any games. He tried to carry on at Forest Green, but in the end we didn’t feel it was the worth the risk."

Swansea loanee Nathanael Ogbeta impressed after coming off the bench for the final half hour at the New Lawn.

"Nathanael is a very good player,” Ferguson added. “We’ve known that for a long time and he did well on Saturday. It was a great cross that eventually led to our penalty.

"It’s a good contest between him and Dan Butler for the left-back position. Dan has done nothing wrong since I came back. He’s looking fit and strong himself.”

Posh have racked up three successive victories in League One as they aim to climb into the play-off places. They are currently in seventh place - nine poitns behind Ian Evatt's men but with three games in hand.

Wanderers earned a late 1-0 victory when the sides met at the University of Bolton Stadium back in September. Dapo Afolayan got the decisive goal with the help of a deflection that wrong-footed Lucas Bergstrom.

The Whites were beaten 1-0 on their last trip to London Road in December 2019, with Ivan Toney on target that day.
