Cheltenham boss Wade Elliott believes his side can go toe-to-toe with any League One side ahead of their trip to Wanderers this weekend.

Elliott’s side currently sit 18th in the table following last weekend’s goalless draw against Port Vale at Whaddon Road.

The Robins recorded a 1-0 win against the Whites earlier this season, with Ryan Broom getting the decisive goal three minutes from time.

Elliott told Gloucestershire Live: “We usually have good games with Bolton. Over the past two or three seasons. Ian (Evatt) has done a good job.

“He's been backed again in January and brought in some good players, so we are expecting a good game.

“We have shown we are capable of going toe to toe with anybody. We've gone to Ipswich and taken a point, we have performed well against Sheff Wed, Bolton, Plymouth, Derby.

“We have shown that when our mindset is right and we approach the game in the right manner, then we can go and compete with any team.”

Dan Nlundulu spent the first half of the season at Cheltenham before joining Wanderers on loan from Premier League side Southampton.

He forward is unavailable for the weekend after missing the last couple of matches with a hamstring strain.

When asked about his absence, Elliott added: “It's not good news for me and I am a bit gutted if I am being honest. He's a good kid.

“When we signed him we did a deep dive into his history. He has had a horrible time with hamstrings and we managed him really well.

“We had him available for every minute of every game and we got him playing to a level he's never reached before.

“To see him regress and pick up the hamstring injury, I don't take any pleasure in seeing him miss out, even though he's a good player and he's not available to play against us.”
