Wanderers have completed the signing of Manchester City defender Luke Mbete on loan for the rest of the season.
The England Under-21 international terminated a loan deal with Huddersfield Town this afternoon to link up with Ian Evatt’s promotion-chasing side.
Mbete made six appearances in the Championship but has largely been out of the squad since the clubs returned from the post-World Cup break.
Here is what Bolton supporters said about the signing on social media
Evatt has made very, VERY few mistakes when signing players. I have total faith in his judgement #BWFC

Never heard of the new signing, but I'd never heard of Trafford, Bradley or Shoretire either and I've been impressed with them all so hopefully it's another strong addition to the squad in an area we need cover. And can't be too bad if he's from city's development squad #bwfc

Amazing getting another loan player from a prem club. Not only that, a top top club! Must be doing something right #bwfc https://t.co/NeViwFUQNj

Luke Mbete is a better signing than we could have expected, given the time constraints. Quick, technical, etc...just how the manager likes his defenders. #bwfc

The fact we've secured two young players who have played Champions League football, in League One, is really impressive #bwfc

Reckon that will be us done now. I can't see anywhere we are desperate. Maybe a GK and a DMF but they can be addressed in the summer. #bwfc

Would not be against that being it tbh. Think we have had a decent transfer window #bwfc

Still need an experienced centre back. Good cover but not if Johnston is pickled for any length of time. #bwfc
