Dion Charles’ suspension has been overturned following a bizarre red card in midweek – but Elias Kachunga will now face a ban.

Charles was sent off during the 1-0 win against Forest Green on Tuesday night after Kachunga appeared to lash out at Brandon Cooper off the ball.

The Northern Ireland international is now available for Saturday’s clash with Charlton at the Valley (12:30pm).

He is Wanderers’ top scorer this season, having found the net 13 times in 32 appearances since the start of the campaign.

However, Kachunga will miss this weekend's game and is also unavailable for the upcoming fixtures against Cheltenham and Peterborough.

Charles is currently the Whites’ only available out-and-out striker, with Dan Nlundulu and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson out of action.

Southampton loanee Nlundulu is expected to be out for at least a couple of weeks after picking up a hamstring issue. Meanwhile, Bodvarsson is set to miss the remainder of the campaign after having surgery on an injured ankle.

Earlier today, Kachunga took to social media to apologise for his actions in midweek.

He wrote on his Twitter page: “I just want to apologise for my actions in the game on Tuesday night. This is not how my family raised me and there is no excuse.

“Everyone who works with me and knows me knows that I always give everything for the team and try to make everyone smile. However, I am just a human and I go through periods of struggle just like everyone else.

“Special thanks to my team, gaffer and family who have supported me straight away after the game during this low point.

“And thank you to those fans who have supported me, it means a lot when you are feeling low. I just hope the people sending me abuse can find peace in their life.”
