Wanderers have sold out their full allocation of tickets for next month’s Papa Johns Trophy semi-final at Accrington less than an hour after they went on sale.
The Whites were allocated 2,607 tickets for the fixture, which takes place at the Wham Stadium on Wednesday, February 22 (8pm).
The quick sell-out comes despite some supporters voicing their frustrations on social media that adults’ tickets were priced at £20.
Ian Evatt’s men are just one step away from Wembley after overcoming Portsmouth in the quarter-final. Jon Dadi Bodvarsson got the decisive goal that night.
Wanderers also overcame Barrow and Manchester United Under-21s in the knockout rounds after finishing top of Group B.
Meanwhile, Accrington knocked out Lincoln City on penalties in the previous round following a 2-2 draw at Sincil Bank. Former Bolton goalkeeper Lukas Jensen denied Danny Mandroiu and Max Sanders from 12 yards that night.
The Whites ran out 3-2 winners when the sides met at the Wham Stadium back in October thanks to goals from Kieran Lee and Dapo Afolayan, as well as a Harvey Rodgers own goal.
They also came out on top when the sides met at the UniBol last April, with Bodvarsson bagging a brace that day.
Accrington currently sit 20th in the League One table – one point above the drop zone despite having played at least one game fewer than the sides around them.
Wanderers won the competition in 1989 following a memorable 4-1 win against Torquay at Wembley. Under-18s manager Julian Darby was on target against the Gulls that day.
