Wanderers’ League One trip to Bristol Rovers on the final day of the season will now be played on Sunday, May 7 (12pm).
The fixture was initially scheduled to take place a day earlier but has been moved due to the coronation of King Charles III.
The decision was approved by the EFL Board at its recent meeting, according to an official statement.
All fixtures across the division will kick-off at the same time on the final day, with the possibility that results could decide the promotion and relegation spots.
Meanwhile, League Two fixtures will be played on Monday, May 8 (12.30pm) and Championship matches will be played the same day at 3pm.
Wanderers currently sit fifth in the League One table and are unbeaten in their last eight matches in all competitions.
The Whites will be hoping to have their place in the top six wrapped up before their trip to the Memorial Stadium, and Ian Evatt still hasn’t given up the chase on the top two sides.
However, it could potentially be a big fixture for the club as they aim to build on last season’s ninth-place finish.
Meanwhile, Bristol Rovers currently sit in ninth place after winning promotion from League Two last term.
The points were shared when the sides met at the University of Bolton Stadium earlier this season, with Dion Charles scoring a dramatic late equaliser after Josh Coburn had opened the scoring.
The Whites are unbeaten in their last seven matches against the Gas – a record stretching back to September 1989.
Wanderers’ last win in the fixture came in October 2019 when Luke Murphy and Daryl Murphy were both on target during a 2-0 victory on the road.
