Wanderers could take another step closer to Wembley when they take on League One rivals Portsmouth in the Papa Johns Trophy quarter-final.
Ian Evatt’s men enter the game on the back of a goalless draw against league leaders Plymouth at the weekend.
The Whites reached this stage following a 4-0 victory against Manchester United Under-21s after goals from Dapo Afolayan, Aaron Morley, Amadou Bakayoko and Conor Bradley.
Meanwhile, Portsmouth overcame Stevenage in the previous round following a comfortable 3-0 victory at Fratton Park. Jay Mingi, Josh Koroma and Joe Pigott were all on target that night.
When and where is the game being played?
The fixture takes place at the University of Bolton Stadium on Tuesday, January 10 (7.45pm).
The points were shared when the sides met at the UniBol last season, with Kieran Sadlier’s penalty cancelling out Aiden O’Brien’s opener.
The Whites have failed to win any of their last five matches between the sides. Their last win came in September 2009, with Tamir Cohen, Matt Taylor and Gary Cahill all getting on the scoresheet.
