Wanderers’ kick off the festive period with a tricky home fixture against Derby in front of the TV cameras.
Ian Evatt’s men are currently fifth in the League One table – just a point above the Rams at this stage.
The Whites enter the game on the back of a 2-0 win against Exeter thanks to goals from Conor Bradley and Dion Charles.
Team news
Skipper Ricardo Santos has been given the all-clear to return and could be back in action by the start of January.
Jon Dadi Bodvarsson is back in contention after having an operation to repair his broken nose, but Gethin Jones remains sidelined.
Kyle Dempsey is also available, while Lloyd Isgrove could be involved in the squad for the first time since October.
As for the visitors, experienced defender James Chester is not yet ready to return after a spell on the sidelines with a calf issue.
Goalkeeper Joseph Anang, who is on loan from Premier League West Ham, has also been pictured training after recovering from a broken bone in his arm.
Opposition lowdown
Paul Warne – who guided Rotherham to automatic promotion to the Championship last season - took charge at Pride Park back in September.
The Rams are unbeaten in their last eight league matches, with their last defeat coming against Ipswich on October 21.
Warne’s side recorded an emphatic 4-0 win against Forest Green in their last outing, with David McGoldrick scoring a hat trick.
Head-to-head
Wanderers have faced Derby 133 times in their history, with a record of 46 wins, 22 draws and 65 defeats.
Wanderers haven’t faced Derby in the league since April 2019. The East Midlands club ran out 4-0 winners after a brilliant display by current England star Mason Mount.
The Whites’ last win in the fixture came several months prior when Craig Noone got the decisive goal at the UniBol.
