Wanderers will be in the hat for the Papa Johns Trophy quarter final draw. Here are all the details you need.
Ian Evatt’s men reached this stage following a 4-0 victory against Manchester United Under-21s at the UniBol on Tuesday night.
Dapo Afolayan, Aaron Morley, Amadou Bakayoko and Conor Bradley were all on target for the Whites against United’s youngsters.
Wanderers have now gone one step further than last season when they were knocked out in the last 16 following a late 1-0 defeat at Hartlepool.
The Whites won the competition in 1989, running out 4-1 winners against Torquay in the final at Wembley. Julian Darby, Dean Crombie, Trevor Morgan and Jeff Chandler were all on target that day.
When does the draw take place?
The draw will be broadcast live on TalkSPORT on the Jim White and Simon Jordan show at around 11:45am. It will be conducted by Kenny Jackett, who won the competition in 2006 with Swansea and again in 2019 with Portsmouth.
Which teams could Wanderers face?
The competition is no longer regionalised between northern and southern sections at this stage, which means there are several teams who the Whites could face next.
Accrington, Bristol Rovers, Cheltenham Lincoln and Portsmouth have also booked their place in the last eight.
Meanwhile, Salford face Port Vale and Plymouth host Wimbledon next week in the remaining fixtures of the round.
