Wanderers boss Ian Evatt says his side are preparing like Saturday’s trip to Shrewsbury is “100 per cent on”.
With more cold weather on the way, there have been some concerns among supporters about whether the game will go ahead.
But Evatt is refusing to let the conditions affect the Whites’ preparation for the fixture and insists they are “ready to go”.
“The mindset that we’re trying to get ourselves into, and I’ve said this for a few weeks now, is to control the controllables,” he said.
“The weather, the frost, the frost covers, the pitch - all these things are out of our control.
“All we can do is concentrate on ourselves and make sure we’re prepared the best possible way if we play or we don’t play.
“We are preparing like the game is 100 per cent on, there’s no other way to prepare really, so we’re fully focused and ready to go.”
Wanderers struggled at times on the road last season, but there have been plenty of positives to take from the recent trips to Accrington, Cambridge and Fleetwood.
Evatt is expecting another tough test at Shrewsbury and says results across the division are proof that there are no certainties in League One.
He added: “There’s no fodder in this division, I think that’s really important to recognise that every game is difficult.
“Every challenge is difficult and Shrewsbury have some really good players and a really good manager so we’re expecting a really tough game.
“It was highlighted over the weekend that we dominated the game against Bristol Rovers, should have won it, and thankfully we got something out of it.
“But if you look at the other results, Fleetwood went to Ipswich and drew, Port Vale beat Plymouth away and these results can happen in every division.
“It’s tough, difficult and it’s a 46 game season so there are going to be ups and downs, and it’s how you manage the downs that will define our season. I think so far we’ve managed the downs quite well.”
