Wanderers are back in League One action after a 10-day break when they host Bristol Rovers tonight (KO 7:45pm).
The Whites are currently fifth in the League One table – only behind fourth-place Peterborough on goal difference despite having played a game fewer.
Ian Evatt’s men recorded a 3-2 win against Barrow in the Papa Johns Trophy last time out thanks to goals from Dapo Afolayan, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Elias Kachunga.
Team news
Kyle Dempsey could be out of action until the end of the year after scans revealed ligament damage on an injured ankle.
Meanwhile, Will Aimson has returned to full training after suffering a hamstring issue during a B Team fixture.
Lloyd Isgrove remains sidelined, but Evatt is hopeful that the Welshman will be back in training by the middle of December.
Wanderers have no other injury concerns ahead of tonight’s game, with a sickness bug now fully cleared up from Lostock.
Opposition lowdown
Rovers are currently 15th in the table as they aim to build on last season’s promotion from League Two on the final day.
Joey Barton’s side recorded a 1-0 victory against Peterborough in their last league outing, with Scott Sinclair scoring the winner early in the second half.
However, they enter the game on the back of a shock 2-0 defeat against non-league side Boreham Wood in the FA Cup second round.
Head-to-head
Wanderers have faced Bristol Rovers 33 times in their history, with a record of 13 wins, 10 draws and 10 defeats.
The points were shared when the sides last met back in January 2020, with Daryl Murphy cancelling out Jonson Clarke-Harris’ opener.
Murphy was also on target during the Whites’ last win in the fixture – a 2-0 victory at the Memorial Stadium in October 2019.
Bolton are unbeaten in their last six competitive matches against the Gas – a record stretching back to January 1989.
