Former Wanderers striker Tope Obadeyi has signed for the 14th different club of his career – penning a deal with National League North side Gloucester City.

The 33-year-old, who played three times for Bolton after graduating through the academy, has had a string of clubs at home and abroad.

Obadeyi – a schoolmate of ex-England striker Daniel Sturridge - was handed his debut by Gary Megson in the Premier League at the end of a 1-0 defeat to Wigan Athletic.

The former England youth international also turned out against Arsenal and Manchester United before leaving the Reebok for the first of several loan spells.

In all, Obadeyi has played for Bolton, Swindon, Rochdale, Shrewsbury, Chesterfield, Rio Ave (Portugal), Bury, Plymouth, Kilmarnock, Dundee United, Oldham, Sochaux (France), Ilkeston and Gloucester City.

Gloucester manager Steve King said he was eager to get Obadeyi up to full fitness.

“Tope is a Football League player - he has played at all the levels but is another not to have played for while so needs time to get back up to speed, but he gives us another threat,” he told Gloucester Live.
