Accrington Stanley stand between Wanderers and a trip to Leeds United in the FA Youth Cup.
The Reds make the short trip to the UniBol in the second round tonight (KO 7pm) and supporters can pay on the gate, with tickets priced at £3 for adults and £1 for over-65s and under-18s.
The Whites were knocked out by Accrington in the opening round last season following a 3-2 defeat at the Wham Stadium despite a brace from Lamine Toure.
Wanderers reached this stage following a comfortable 3-0 victory against Wythenshawe Amateurs, with Yestin Shakespear, Leo Graham and Wesley Frimpong all getting on the scoresheet.
Meanwhile, Stanley recorded a 3-2 win against Hartlepool United at Victoria Park in the previous round.
The young Whites are managed by Julian Darby, who made nearly 350 appearances during a seven-year spell at Burnden Park during his playing career.
Darby is delighted the young players will get another opportunity to step onto the pitch at the UniBol.
“Ultimately, this is what they want,” he said. “In a few years’ time they want to come here and play in front of thousands of supporters every week. It is just what the lads have dreamed of.
“Joel Burgess, who was our captain (against Wythenshawe), and Noah Halford – they are Bolton boys through and through.
“They go and watch the first team games home and away. For them to actually play here, it is fantastic.”
Darby was in charge of the Under-16 side last season and is relishing his current role with the Under-18 squad.
The manager explained: “They have been good. They are a great, honest bunch and there are some good players.
“I had them at Under-16s last year and they won every game apart from two last year, so I know there are some decent players in there.
“It is a process. I get frustrated sometimes because I forget it is a process, but it is a two-year scholarship. Hopefully, they can progress to the B Team and then the first team.”
He added: “You are with them six days out of seven and they turn into almost an extended family. You start to care about the kids because ultimately you are with them that long.
“There is respect around the place, they work their socks off for each other. For a team environment, that is invaluable.”
