Ian Evatt believes he will be backed in January if he feels the need to improve his squad.
The Wanderers boss has a good record in the winter transfer window and his signings have made a positive impact in each of his two full seasons at the UniBol.
Evatt remains confident that despite an inconsistent October his current group of players can improve over the next two months. But he has already sussed out some options in the transfer market and feels confident that owners, Football Ventures, will provide the financial backing he requires.
“The transfer window is always in our mind and we’ll always look to improve,” he told The Bolton News. “Predominantly, as a young manager, I have had quite a lot of success with them – and historically, we have always started c**p. This season has been alright, I think we’re in a really good position considering and if we can finish the second half like we have in the last four years I have been a manager then who knows?
“I understand everyone wants success right now. Weirdly enough, the guys at the top are doing well this season but if you look at last season’s table at this stage, it isn’t dissimilar. Plymouth are up there again.
“Football seasons are a long, long journey and you are going to have moments and spells where you are not quite at it. Unfortunately, as much as we all want to be Manchester City, we’re a League One team with League One footballers, so there will be inconsistencies.
“It is about solving those riddles when they come along, because they will come along, and then work hard to put them right. If that involves another window to make us better then, of course, we will look at it.
“Sharon and the rest of the board have worked tirelessly to get this club on a strong financial football, to help make us sustainable, and we are really fortunate with the buy-in we have had from them, the fans, the commercial department, it has put us in a really good place. So if we need to strengthen, we will.”
Wanderers have 10 first team players out of contract in the summer, including MJ Williams, Elias Kachunga, Josh Sheehan and Lloyd Isgrove.
They face Barnsley in the FA Cup today looking to progress to the second round for the first time in four attempts.
