WANDERERS (3-4-1-2).
JAMES TRAFFORD…7.
Made a big save early on from Little and, as normal, swept up well when anything dropped behind the Bolton back three. Still ticking along nicely.
GETHIN JONES…5.5.
Saw lots of the ball and did step forward to combine with Bradley on a few occasions early on. Not Bolton’s most effective side of the pitch in the second half, though.
RICARDO SANTOS…5.
One switch off cost dear in the end. Santos looked pretty comfortable for the most part, defensively, but some of his work on the ball was slow.
GEORGE JOHNSTON…4.5.
Took a heavy knock early on from the keeper and was then subbed at half time for Jack Iredale in a tactical switch. Not a great day for the former Liverpool man.
CONOR BRADLEY…5.5.
Not his most effective game by a long stretch. Struggled to find space at times and lacked a little spark on the ball.
MJ WILLIAMS…5.
Whether fatigue is setting in, or this was just an off day, Williams looked off the pace for large patches of the match.
GEORGE THOMASON…5.
Has been excellent of late, yet couldn’t get into this game and looked frustrated for it. Swapped for Afolayan in the second half.
DECLAN JOHN…6.5.
Looked Bolton’s most dangerous player, especially after the introduction of Iredale in support. A reasonable return to first team action.
KIERAN LEE…5.
Got on the ball more when he dropped into a deeper role after the break but this was miles off his usual standard.
ELIAS KACHUNGA…5.
Only touched the ball once in the Forest Green box. Worked hard down the right but Wanderers needed more on the day.
DION CHARLES…5.
Three good chances. Had he scored any one of them, the second half would have been a very different story.
Subs: Iredale 6, 46 (for Johnston) – Allowed John to push on and made one fine saving challenge.
Afolayan 5, 63 (for Thomason) – Hard seeing him reduced to a rescue act.
Bodvarsson 5, 70 (for Kachunga) – Had one decent opportunity.
Sadlier 78 (for Bradley) – Also missed a gilt-edged chance.
Not used: Sheehan, Aimson, Morley.
Forest Green (3-4-1-2): McGee; Cargill, Moore-Taylor, Marques; O’Keefe, Hendry, Stevenson, McAllister; Little; Wickham, Brown.
Subs: March 73 (for Hendry), Peart-Harris 79 (for Wickham).
Not used: Bernard, Casey, Boyes, Thomas, Bunker.
Attendance: 3,419.
Referee: Marc Edwards 7/10 – Let the game flow quite well, even when players were staying down regularly in the first half. No huge decisions for him to make. Managed things well.
