Cheltenham boss Wade Elliott is wary of Wanderers’ quality in the final third ahead of tomorrow night’s League One clash.
Elliott took charge at Whaddon Road over the summer following Michael Duff’s departure to League One rivals Barnsley.
The Robins chief described the Whites as “a good footballing team” but is hopeful that his side can build on their recent results.
“They have had a really good start,” he told the club's YouTube channel. “Obviously, we have been butting heads with them over the past couple of years so we know them fairly well and they know us fairly well.
“A good footballing team. What they have got is good options at the top end of the pitch, lots of variety in their centre-forwards and attacking players.
“They have got a structure and way of playing, but they can tweak it depending on the personnel they select up top.”
Cheltenham have won three of their last four matches in all competitions and are up to 17th in the table after a difficult start.
Star man Alfie May is a doubt after suffering an ankle injury during the 2-0 win against Shrewsbury at the weekend, but Elliott says they will know more by tomorrow.
He added: “We will scan Alfie today and then we will see where he is from there. We should know tonight or tomorrow.”
Elliot Bonds returned from injury against Shrewsbury – his first appearance since August following a spell on the sidelines.
The midfielder insists the squad are “relishing” the challenge of coming up against the Whites after their recent upturn in form.
“It is going to be a tough test. They are a good side, they are going well,” he said.
“But off the back of a win, the boys put in a good performance and spirits are high. It is a tough challenge but one that we are all relishing and looking forward to.”
