Wanderers are “leading the race” to sign Liverpool youngster Owen Beck on loan, according to a report.
The left-back is on loan at Portuguese side Famalicao but is set to be re-called, according to Liverpool Echo reporter Kiefer MacDonald.
MacDonald suggests that the deal “should be finalised tomorrow” despite interest from other English clubs.
Wanderers have already taken Norther Ireland international Conor Bradley on loan from the Anfield club this summer.
The 19-year-old has made a promising start to his time in League One, impressing at both ends of the pitch.
Beck, who has been at Liverpool since Under-13 level, has made two senior appearances for the Merseyside outfit and signed a new long-term contract last summer.
He has also represented Wales from Under-17 to Under-21 level and is the great nephew of Anfield legend Ian Rush.
Beck joined Famalicao on a season-long loan in July after impressing in Premier League 2, making 20 starts in the competition.
Wanderers have already brought in Bradley, Jack Iredale and Eoin Toal this summer, as well as re-signing England Under-21 goalkeeper James Trafford on loan from Manchester City for a further season.
And Evatt has hinted there could be further business before the window slams shut at 11pm on Thursday night as he aims to bolster his squad.
The Whites are currently 10th in the League One table, having taken eight points from their opening six matches after a tricky start on paper.
Wanderers are back in league action on Saturday afternoon when they welcome Charlton Athletic to the UniBol (KO 3pm).
