Wanderers forward Dion Charles hopes he can push on after getting his first goal of the campaign in the 4-1 defeat against Aston Villa.
The Northern Ireland international put his side in front, slotting past Emiliano Martinez after some good work by Kieran Lee.
But the visitors hit back through Douglas Luiz, Danny Ings, Lucas Digne and Leon Bailey to book their place in the Carabao Cup third round.
Charles enjoyed the chance to test himself against Premier League opposition and felt Wanderers gave “a brilliant account” of themselves in front of the TV cameras.
The forward recently returned from a thigh strain and is determined to keep making an impact ahead of Saturday’s trip to Plymouth Argyle.
"I thought we battled away for a good 60 minutes and then they showed their class,” he told the club’s YouTube channel.
"They're a Premier League side full of world-class players and I thought we gave a brilliant account of ourselves.
"The difference between the standards, they got through on goal and took their chances. They punished our mistakes and perhaps we didn't quite do that to them.
"They're playing at the top level and some of us are aspiring to be there, so it's a great test and personally it was good to get a goal against world-class opposition.
"As a striker, the first one is always the hardest but once you get that out of the way hopefully they come flooding in.
"I've had a little niggly injury which wasn't too bad. I've shown the fans out there how hard I'm willing to work for this club and I got a goal for my reward."
