Wanderers suffered a 4-1 defeat against Premier League side Aston Villa despite a spirited performance, but what did fans have to say?
Dion Charles putΒ the WhitesΒ in front but the visitors hit back through Douglas Luiz, Danny Ings, Lucas Digne and Leon Bailey to book their place in the Carabao Cup third round.
John McGinn and Cameron Archer also had chances in the final stages but Joel Dixon made a couple of smart stops.
Here is what supporters have said about the match on social media
Should take confidence in that performance.. Didnβt deserve to concede 4 at all. Need to get a result against Plymouth now Saturday !

Sorry Ian, I love you but I think you got that team selection completely wrong tonight.

Why make 6 changes including the goalkeeper?
If we would have played our first team, we would have given them a closer game.
Really strange team selectionβ¦
Thought we did well and penalty just knocked stuffing out of us. After penalty we stopped chasing.

Proud to be a Bolton fan tonight. More than matched a full strength premier league side for large parts. Scoreline flattered them. #bwfc
