Former Wanderers youngster Aaron Mooy has completed a permanent move to Scottish giants Celtic.
The midfielder spent several years in the Whites' youth ranks and was even compared to French legend Zinedine Zidane by Peter Farrell.
However, he left the North West two years later to join Scottish club St Mirren before heading to Australia.
Mooy returned to England with Manchester City in 2016 and also had spells at Huddersfield and Brighton.
The 31-year-old was a free agent after leaving Chinese outfit Shanghai Port and will now link up with manager Ange Postecoglou, who he played under for the Australian national team.
Celtic have also announced the addition of German central defender Moritz Jenz ahead of the upcoming Scottish Premiership season.
“I’m delighted that we’ve been able to bring in both Aaron and Moritz to the club and I’m sure they will be great additions to our squad,” Postecoglou told the club’s website.
“I obviously know Aaron from my time coaching the Australian national team and he brings with him a wealth of experience at both club and international level.
“Moritz is player we have been aware of for a while now and I am pleased that we have been able to sign him.
“They have already had the chance to meet the rest of the squad and I am sure they will settle in vert quickly into what is a very welcoming group of players, and I know that our supporters will be looking forward to seeing them both in a Celtic jersey.”
Celtic clinched the title last season – finishing four points clear of second-placed Rangers after losing just three league matches in total.
