Horwich RMI AFC has annouced that it will play its football in a new league for the first time in over two decades.
For the last 23 years the club has played its football in the Lancashire Amateur Football League, but next season they will instead kick off in the Manchester Football League.
A spokesperson for the club said: "The club are happy to announce that today we were voted into the Manchester Football League for the 2022/2023 season.
"We would like to thank the Lancashire Amateur League for their support over the last 23 years, however the club has made the decision to move forward with the Manchester Football League which offers step 7 in the football pyramid.
"We are looking forward to starting this new journey as a club with the Manchester League that we see as a perfect fit for the club without the significant travel commitments that other league at the same level on the football pyramid require."
Established in 1893, the Manchester Football League is currently the oldest amateur league in England.
