Wanderers have moved on from Fulham wing-back Marlon Fossey as they aim to bolster their ranks ahead of the upcoming season.
The 23-year-old impressed during a loan spell with the Whites last season before suffering a torn meniscus.
However, The Bolton News understands he has at least two offers from the Championship and Ian Evatt will now look elsewhere.
Here is what fans had to say on social media about the news.
Gutted to see this as I would have loved to see him back in the squad however, if IE has stopped pursuing for whatever reason then he has a plan. If he doesn't want to be here then we move on and look forward to the season ahead #OINO #BWFC

Great player and gutted. But also could be a blessing in disguise when you look at his injury record. Don’t want another Mark Davies. Evatt will have a number of targets, we don’t seem to throw all eggs in one basket. Good luck to Fossey, you can’t blame him really.

Disappointing as he is a great player. That said also a msssive risk signing given his injury record. On balance seems right to move on.

A bit of blow tbh, but like with Kioso, we move on. It’s not the end of the world. Club has shown it can find the players we need.

PS I don’t blame Fossey for wanting to play at the highest level he can. Its a short career. Particularly if injury prone.
we still have sadlier who did really well at RWB when he was injured

Disappointed but more important that we confirm Trafford. Good luck to Fossey.

I would have loved him to stay. Always going to play at a higher level after last season but will have injury questions around him. With our smaller squad could be a risk. Plenty faith in Evatt to find someone else.

hopefully a blessing in disguise considering his injury record

It’s a shame. Good player and I would have liked to have him back. It seemed very promising m at one stage. That said, can’t really argue if there is Championship interest. I have every conference in the recruitment team to find a good alternative though.

He's got to do the best for his career, and Ian has to do his best for us. Best of luck to him, hope it turns out 👍

Not worried one bit , Ian will bring in a peach of a player!
