WANDERERS were one of the big "over-performers" in their first season back in League One, according to a new study.
The Whites finished ninth after racking up wins against Doncaster, Accrington, Cheltenham and Fleetwood in the final stages.
However, Ian Evatt’s men were expected to finish 16th, according to a study by bettingodds.com.
Their expected table was determined using an algorithm which broke down each side’s squad value across the division.
The study suggests that Accrington were the highest over-performers over the past League One season.
John Coleman’s men were expected to finish in the drop zone but managed to make the top half following a 4-3 win at Wimbledon on the final day.
At the other end of the list, Lincoln were said to be the biggest under-performers in the division.
The Imps finished 17th in the table but were expected to make the top 10, according to the data.
