WANDERERS (3-4-1-2).
JAMES TRAFFORD…7.5.
Has shown genuine progress in his time at Wanderers. Made key saves, claimed crosses, frustrated fans determined to break his concentration. This lad is the real deal and we hope he comes back.
GETHIN JONES…7.
Entirely unflappable. Very economic in possession and stayed solid in his defensive duties. As ever, very hard to pick holes in what he is doing.
WILL AIMSON…6.5.
Used the ball well, won his fair share on the ground and on the floor in open play, even though those set pieces continue to cause issues.
GEORGE JOHNSTON…6.5.
Won lots in the air and drove forward in possession whenever he could – but again, the set piece worry is there. Something to work on.
KIERAN SADLIER…6.
So easy to watch him on the ball – and though he didn’t get much chance to shine, he has combined well with Jones on the right.
AARON MORLEY…7.
Sprayed a couple of passes in the second half that made your jaw drop. Wanderers look to him to make things happen and as the game wore on, so his influence increased.
GEORGE THOMASON…7.
Little bit loose early on but soon recovered his poise to start bossing midfield and show that he genuinely has a chance to be a starting midfielder in the near future.
DECLAN JOHN…7.5.
Taken some brickbats at times this season but there are very few players in the Bolton squad as good at the role they are being asked to play. Quality.
DAPO AFOLAYAN…6.
A quieter day for Afolayan, who finished the season as Bolton’s top scorer with a very impressive 14 goals. Still the man who most often makes the entrance fee worthwhile.
AMADOU BAKAYOKO…6.5.
His ovation after leaving the pitch was something else. What a first season he has had at Bolton Wanderers – and what a good ball he played in Charles’s equalising goal.
DION CHARLES…8.5.
Just a fly in the ointment for Fleetwood from the first minute of the game. Needed a goal, grabbed one with a fine finish, then conjured a second out of pure graft.
Subs: Kachunga 6, 66 (for Sadlier) – Linked play up quite well towards the end.
Bodvarsson 7, 66 (for Bakayoko) – Classy touches all over the pitch.
Baptiste 88 (for Thomason) – Steadied the ship.
Not used: Dixon, Amaechi, Gordon, Conway.
FLEETWOOD (4-3-3): Carins; Macadam, Nsiala, Clarke, Andrew; Baggley, Boyle, Camps; Garner, Hayes, Pilkington.
Subs: Batty 66 (for Baggley), Jules 77 (for Clarke), Morris 90+2 (for Boyle).
Not used: Harrop, Butterworth, O’Hara, Bird.
Referee: Martin Coy – Played a fine advantage in the build-up to Bolton’s first-half equaliser and generally kept himself out of the limelight. One of the good ones this season. 8/10.
Attendance: 16,886.
