AMADOU Bakayoko has been nominated for the March player of the month award in League One.
The big striker scored five goals in February to earn recognition from the EFL alongside Sheffield Wednesday’s Barry Bannan, Cheltenham Town’s Alfie May and Rotherham United’s John Vickers.
Bakayoko scored a goal every 73 minutes that he was on the pitch last month to help Ian Evatt’s side edge closer to the play-off picture.
He has also been nominated for the PFA's player of the month award, which is decided by an online poll - VOTE HERE.
The former Coventry City front man now has 10 goals in all competitions, matching his career-best for a single campaign, achieved in Walsall colours.
Among them was an emotionally-charged equaliser at Morecambe and a winner at Oxford United.
Alongside Bakayoko, ex-Wanderers loanee Bannan either scored or assisted in five of Wednesday’s six games over the course of last month.
Cheltenham striker May was in electric form, scoring eight times in six games, including four in a single game against Wycombe Wanderers, which finished up 5-5.
Vickers conceded just once in a good run of results for the promotion-chasing Millers, also saving a penalty against Accrington.
All winners will be announced on Friday, March 11, with the judging panel comprising of Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; EFL Communications Director Mark Rowan and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
