WANDERERS (4-3-3).

JOEL DIXON…5.

Made a really important save early on from Hanlan, at which point you hoped his luck had changed. All went a bit downhill after that.

MARLON FOSSEY…7.5.

Hair, head and shoulders above the rest of the players on the park. Even Gareth Ainsworth picked him out as man of the match. Exciting addition.

RICARDO ALMEIDA SANTOS…5.

Coped quite well with Vokes and Co at close range but looked vulnerable when Wycombe ran at him, which led to the first goal.

WILL AIMSON…6.5.

Actually came up with a few big challenges in front of his own goal. Sadly those around him were not in the same sort of defensive form.

DECLAN JOHN…5.5.

A couple of good moments going forward but there isn’t the same urgency in the Welshman’s game as we saw last season.

KIERAN LEE…6.5.

Linked up nicely with Charles in the first half and produced some intelligent moments on the ball. Impact waned in the second half.

MJ WILLIAMS…6.

Could have made better decisions in the build up to the first goal but generally neat and tidy on the ball, if not the most progressive player on the pitch.

GEORGE THOMASON…5.

Asking a lot for a player of his age to take on a side like Wycombe and though he produced a few nice touches, he was swamped for the most part.

AMADOU BAKAYOKO….5.

Looked sharp enough in the opening 30 minutes but disappeared from the game after that. Still feeling his way back.

DION CHARLES…6.5.

Some genuinely uplifting moments which hint at what he can do, not least the link-up with Lee which was flagged offside.

DAPO AFOLAYAN…5.

Better than this. Took a bad knock to the head which may have affected his game. Set pieces were poor all afternoon.

Subs: Jones 6, 56 (for Bakayoko) – Great to have him back.

Delfouneso 5, 66 (for Charles) – Nope. Has to be better.

Darcy 83 (for Fossey) – Late cameo. Welcome return.

Not used: Hutchinson, Johnston, Baptiste, Gordon.

Wycombe (3-4-1-2): Stockdale; Stewart, Tafazoli, Jacobson; Grimmer, Mehmeti, Scowen, Obita; McCleary; Vokes, Hanlan.

Subs: Horgan 73 (for Mehmeti), Thompson 73 (for Jacobson), De Barr 88 (for Hanlan).

Not used: Przybek, Wheeler, Leathers, Pendlebury.

Referee: Peter Wright 5/10 – A couple of early cards might have stamped some authority on the game but the first half was farcical. Much better in the second once Wycombe knew they couldn’t get away with it.
