WANDERERS look set to wave goodbye to five loaness after their deals expired yesterday.
Toto Nsiala, Brandon Fleming, Ethan Hamilton, Anthony Georgiou and Kean Bryan all came to the end of their loan contract after what should have been the end of the season.
With football on lockdown, FIFA have relaxed the transfer windows to allow clubs flexibility if the season is resumed.
But it is understood that Wanderers have made no firm decision on keeping any of the five loan players – and would be unlikely to do so until the EFL give firm direction on whether the League One season will be completed.
Hamilton played 12 games and scored one goal after arriving from Manchester United in January, missing just one match since making his debut at Rochdale.
Nsiala was brought in from Ipswich Town and has also played a dozen times, finishing on the winning side just once, against Tranmere Rovers.
Hull City left-back Fleming was signed to replace the released Adam Chicksen and made 10 appearances while Sheffield United utility man Bryan played six times and scored against Blackpool in February.
Georgiou, who was a surprise addition from Tottenham on deadline day, is set to leave having played just 36 minutes of football over two appearances at Wimbledon and Burton.
Both Connor Hall – who had been at Chorley – and George Thomasson – who had played on a work experience loan at Bamber Bridge – had their loan agreements end on April 25 when the National League agreed to terminate the 2019/20 campaign and are effectively back under Wanderers’ control.
Wanderers announced last week that they would not be making any knee-jerk decisions on their playing staff while there is still a possibility that the season could be completed.
"We have endeavoured to put ourselves in as flexible a position as possible so that we can react to the eventual decision which is taken by the EFL," a statement read.
"However, we hope, for all clubs, that there will soon be some clarity to allow us the opportunity to plan, whether that be to finish this season or start the 2020/21 season."
A total 14 professional players are out of contract at the UniBol at the end of June and several scholars, including those with first team experience such as Ronan Darcy and Adam Senior.
