ALAN Thompson may hold the distinction of being the first player to score at the Reebok, but Dean Holdsworth reigns supreme as king of the Stadium's goal-getters during its first decade.
Thompson's penalty against Spurs set the club on their way with the first of 367 league and cup home goals they have registered since moving to their new home.
The midfielder scored six more before he moved on to Aston Villa, but it was club record signing Holdsworth who went on to set the benchmark for future Wanderers strikers.
The £3.5million signing from the club formerly known as Wimbledon managed 33 goals at the Reebok, seven more than his nearest rival over the last decade, Michael Ricketts.
Holdsworth scored only 16 goals away from home in five seasons with the Whites, and also claimed the first hat-trick to be scored at the new stadium with a virtuoso display against Scunthorpe in the League Cup on January 28, 2001.
Heading the chasing pack is Ricketts with 24 strikes as a Wanderers players and two more in the shirt of Walsall and Middlesbrough.
But if anyone is to trouble Holdsworth's standing as leader of the pack over the next decade, current squad members Kevin Davies (24) or Kevin Nolan ((22) would seem to be the leading challengers. The current club record signing, Nicolas Anelka, also added eight home goals in his first season at the Reebok Stadium.
Of opposing players at the Reebok, it was the goal-poacher supreme, Robbie Fowler, who has heaped misery on the Reebok faithful more times than any other player with five goals. Former Crewe men, Craig Hignett and Rodney Jack, join recently-retired Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with four goals on their trips to Bolton.
And for the record, 15 players have scored for the opposition at the Reebok Stadium and also played for Wanderers in their career.
